About Bloom's Taxonomy:
Bloom's Taxonomy is a composed of six categories of concepts that in general define critical thinking. The categories are ordered from simplest to more complex. Bloom's taxonomy is a useful schema to gauge the type or level of thinking contained within a text.

The Bloom's Taxonomy score is calculated by counting the instances in which any of the words contained in each of the 6 categories occur within a text string. Simply paste your text into the text box above and click the "Calculate..." button. Mentor will display a count of term matches for each of the six categories. There is no limit to the size of the text you enter here. This function is offered solely as a "classroom assessment tool", that is, as a tool for the instructor to quickly gauge where on Bloom's Taxonomy a given text string predominantly resides.

The following table lists the terms in each of the six categories of Bloom's Taxonomy.
