Mentor is a web based academic data management system. The core feature of Mentor is course management. Course management systems are designed to facilitate the organization and interactions of teachers and students. While much of the teaching process takes place in class, Mentor provides a forum for teachers and students to communicate outside of class, including posting of course materials, assignments and submission of student work. At the end of each trimester, report cards are generated in Mentor courses and then made available to students and their parents.
Mentor is also the primary tool ECDS uses to schedule students into their classes, record grades, track student information and communicate with students, parents and teachers.
If you have questions about the Mentor system, feel free to contact Suellen Inwood at SJinwood@eastoncountryday.org.
A note from Axiom Education:
Mentor is a product of Axiom Education: www.axiomeducation.us. ECDS is the first K-12 school to use the Mentor system. It was first donated to ECDS in 2007 by Professor Curtis Naser (an ECDS parent) and Fairfield University, where Prof. Naser created the Mentor system. With the development of the commercial version of Mentor by Axiom Education, we are please to continue our partnership with ECDS in supporting its educational mission.
